About me
I currently work for Edinburgh based agency Sportpix
(www.sportpix.org.uk) and have covered a wide
variety of sporting events in the last three years including
the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and Ryder Cup
at Gleneagles.
"Ross quickly became a key member of the SportPix team
since he joined us in 2012. He can be relied upon to
deliver quality images across a range of sports and in
challenging situations. Never one to shirk a challenge,
Ross is able to think on his feet and has an eye for the
vital image that captures the story."
Ger Harley
Owner SportPix
The majority of the images I take at events are edited, tagged and wired within minutes. I am well aware of the fact that speed is important when wiring to the media. I am comfortable using both FTP and java based transfer systems and am very familiar with both Lightroom and Photoshop. These skills have enabled me to get images published in The Sun, The Scotsman, The Daily Mail, The Daily Record, The Herald, The Guardian and The Independent.
I am a former rugby player, single-figure handicap golfer and qualified ski instructor which gives me an understanding of these sports in particluar but have a keen interest in most sporting activities. It certainly helps to predict where the action may occur and gives me an extra advantage over some other photographers.
